Degrees of IP and IK protection
IP and IK standards. What does IP44, IP65, IP66 or IK10 mean?
When choosing a luminaire, it is important not only to consider the appearance of the luminaire, but also its compliance with the environmental conditions in which it will be used. If the luminaire is intended for lighting residential areas, e.g. a corridor, living room, bedroom, etc., luminaires with a class of IP20 are sufficient. For luminaires that will be in damp rooms, higher requirements apply – IP44 or higher classes. Outdoor luminaires intended for lighting facades, parks, streets or courtyards can be IP65, IP66, IP67. If the luminaires must be anti-vandal, resistant to mechanical impact – it is important to pay attention to the IK class of the luminaire.
IP protection degree (Ingress protection code) 
The degree of protection of a luminaire, indicating its resistance to various external factors. The IP standard designation consists of the letters IP and two digits, which indicate the class of mechanical protection and protection against moisture of the electrical device.
First digit – Solid particle protection

IK Impact Protection (Mechanical impact resistance) 
An international standard rating that defines an electrical enclosure’s resistance to mechanical impacts:
